Rumbles of thunder

I listen to the sound of that distant drumming thunder
And one by one I carefully count those rumbles, as I wonder
Where on earth is the eye of this storm, it cannot be that far away?
You see lightening scares me, I really have to say
Tho those zooms of zest with yon flashes of fright
Fill me with feelings and such a strangeness of delight
And my heart skips beats on each and every loud boom
As I am dreading the aftermath, hiding behind the curtains in my room
Wow Mother Nature must be in a monstrous mood
I can well imagine her throwing terrible tantrums, with a scowl on her face, partially covered in a hood
Seriously tho, all of that energy, from that zig zagging of electricity
Makes me realise just how vulnerable people are, when bad weather can put their lives in jeopardy…
