RUNNING

They say don't run from your problems
So when I get to where I'm running, I plan to solve them
'Cause there's nothin for me here
There's a message in the sky, but brother it ain't so clear
Most of the family's dead
The rest gave up on me, called it tough love instead
I might be setting off on the horizon to die
If the wells run out, once I'm gone let's keep it dry

I'm not running from my problems
I'm gonna fix them when I get to where it is I'm running
Not sure just yet, if I'm leavin but tonight that bitch looks stunning
I can hear her engine humming

I got nothin but time to fix my problems
And broken relations
Somewhere stands the broken-hearted, at a Jersey Transit station
So last night I called an old friend
Told him bout my problems, I've yet to fix them
Twenty years and still so much to learn
His daddy swept away by a sudden summer storm,
Back when we were just kids
My old man never stood a chance against a twenty-four year old
That always did what this cruel world forbids, so tonight

I'm not running from my problems
I'm gonna fix them when I get to where it is I'm running
Not sure just yet, if I'm leavin but tonight that bitch looks stunning
I can hear her engine humming
