Rusty old nail
Ay, I'm a rusty old nail
I've held a beam or two
Kept the roof over your head
And the dust out of the loo
Ay, I'm a rusty old nail
Holding down the lattice
At bay the winds and hail
For time has come with malice
This old Federation house
Surrounded by a garden
That inside lived a mouse
And a man that sought a pardon
Ay, I'm a rusty old nail
That seeks a place to hold
From the rains and the gales
T'is keeps away the cold
At night when quiet seems
A bird does drop it's mail
If not for wood and beams
And this rusty ol' nail

Thank you Tina, I have no idea how things work
here, I post a poem and I receive such lovely responses
i feel very blessed. I think there's a place for
everything including a rusty old nail.
It feels good to see your nice name and photo,
I am fortunate. Thank you!
