The leaves hang tenuously 
on cold skeleton branches.
In the near winter winds of death.

Terror of the unknown journey
to the awaiting earth keeps 
the invisible stem hanging on.

the air is full of falling leaves
the unknown universe
of renewal awaits their sacrifice.

A kaleidoscope of colors
red yellow brown black
they all fall together
no one spared.

And as they die
new buds bloom.
