Poem -

safe

You said whatever pace I desired
was yours as well,
but I think I'm tired
of holding myself back from you.
I see you
and I don't see anything
I have to approach with caution.
You aren't them,
and I don't believe
you should pay for their wrongs.
You're your own man,
and I know
you aren't going to hurt me.
You're safe.
You assured me that it's okay
but I want to be able to give you
all of me.
You deserve to be loved
free of restraint.
