Poem -

safe

In my dreams I am pale and cold,
The look of death is strong and bold.
Lying there in a flowing black dress,
My hands are lifeless upon my breasts.

Crimson tears run down your cheek,
Flowing freely like a dark red creek.
You stand beside me in a long black cloak,
Looking like a man whose heart just broke.

On my cheek rests one single tear,
That does not move nor disappear.
Two black roses you hold in your hand,
What does this mean, I don't understand?

I awake with you asleep beside me,
The confusion has drained me and left me weak.
Seeking comfort I reach for your hand,
You pull me close and I'm safe once again.

Thank you so much for your feedback. That's one of my favorites. It makes me cry when I read it. Thank you for enjoying it.
