Safe Haven

I mistook the warmth of your hands,
As if they were the warmth of your heart.
Reached out,
So inviting,
Waiting for my touch,
A wonderful embrace.
I mistook the warmth of your body,
As if it was the warmth of your heart.
Beckoning me,
To place mine,
Oh so nicely,
Against it.
I mistook the warmth of your skin,
Even if I could feel the chilling pulse.
So soft,
So comforting.
Your scent signatured my body,
Leaving evidence that you were indeed there.
I mistook your warmth,
Even though I knew your coldness.
But sometimes,
Sweet nothingness is all some one has.
I mistook your coldness,
As a save haven from attachment,
As an escape from feeling I tried to evade.
It all fell through,
Because I fell for you.

I can hear your voice clearly in this poem. it is sad when we mistake coldness for warmth. I hope time heals the wound.
Thank you very much. Time is sure to aid the healing.

Thank you very much!
Excellent piece or work. Well enough to attract every soul have even a little passion in love. Moreover, the poem exposes self enduring capacity with smiling face and warns us not to cry during struggle on the path of wavering love.
