SAFETY IN THE CRAWL SPACE
Hard day at work...
A lot on his mind...
Dad's been drinking and Mom's bus was running late...
Dinner isn't ready, Mom's late from working all day...
Mom comes through the door, tired and weary not a chance to sit down...
Dad begins yelling and Mom gets hurt...
Supper is late...
Pour a bowl of cereal none left for tomorrow...
Stomach hurts and carefully going down the stairs into the cellar...
Safety under the crawl space talking to no one there...
Dust in her hair, finds a cute spider she calls Sam...
Dirt on her face and her knees...
She carefully sets the spider down and puts her bowl and spoon in the sink...
Bath and pajamas she makes her own way...
Tomorrow Dad will be sober and Mom will go to work...
Dad finally leaves, returns again and takes the girl...
Mom gives in and takes him back...
Safety in the crawl space with doll and blanket...
Dad's been drinking...
Mom is so forgiving...
She's in the hospital and big fight, Dad won...
She's always so forgiving...

This is True and there was more, which I left out due to time and space...
Mother didn't believe in Divorce...
For Better or for Worse until Death they did part...Β
I don't know if that's true, separated by Death...
She sacrificed her freedom to get her Daughter back which meant taking him back too...
He didn't kill her physically per say, but she welcomed Death and even invited it for years...
On her Death bed she requested I take care of him...
I did, and he died 2 Months after she did with different medical conditions...
I didn't believe in a loving God for Decades of my life...
Jesus must have been punishing me I used to think, but I never understood why punish the rest of us...
I went to Church most weeks with Mother and Dad always stayed home...
A good place for her to escape too, and I would have been fine in a Tree...
I used to think that way too...
Some Neighborhood kids were very mean too, but I just figured it was all part of God's punishment for me...
I really wished I remembered what I did that made Him so mad at me...
Then I'd be saved out of some situations and the meanness wasn't finished with me yet, and I took at as He wasn't finished yet either...
But, it made me strong...
But, Peace did show me itself when I grew up and when someone starts yelling and raging I remove myself as quickly as possible and decide the lesser evils works fine and nothing's perfect, I can forgive abuse because I have to, but I don't take certain chances for it to rise up again...
