Sailing

Sailing

A tattered shirt for a sail,
we set off on brain waves
Looking for the things
that make the clock stop.

we are pleased but not surprised
when we find each other so
we keep looking because
there must be something
bigger.

We sail past the sunset
and forget to watch for
it's messages on the water
because it can't be that simple.

And all this time stopped
we have surrendered
to someone else
because we sail past
the truth without accepting it.
