Poem -

sally

sally is in her mother,s arm,s

as tear,s role down her tiny face,

she  is looking at her daddy

putting  his coat in a suitcase,

she wonder,s where he is going

and will he return home soon ,

o daddy can you please stay with  me

please tell me what your doing ,

 ###

 sally cant stop crying

her daddy is crying too,

he hold,s her in his arm,s

and whispered i love you,

sally hold,s on to him

and wont let him go,

i love you daddy

o how i love you so ,

##

but the time has come for him to go

as he gives them both a kiss ,

he look,s deep into her eyes

and said your smile i will miss,

but i have no choice in this matter

i must do what is wright,

this is my country and my home

so sweetheart  i must go and fight ,

##

will you be home daddy soon

why must you go and fight,

who will read to me before i go to bed

and kiss me goodnight,

goodbye my sweet sally

and look after your mother ,

with all the love in my heart

i pledge it to no other
