Sands Of Time
If you could have your time all over again
Would you keep everything the same ?
Have you been truly content with your lot ?
Would you change anything or would you not ?
Do you ask if you could have done more ?
Is it now you regret what has gone before ?
..............................................................
It is never wise to dwell on what has past !
On tomorrow your eyes should be cast !
The future is yours, to make of what you will
Live each day to the full, never standing still
For life is too precious to be wondering why
You didn't do all that you could before you die !

Life is all about learning ! You will make some mistakes on the journey and it is impossible to have no regrets at all but the key is to have as full a life as possible. If you widen experiences and explore new avenues that present themselves you will limit your regrets. When the end comes you must not feel that you wasted the precious gift of time !

If you could stop time between hands would erase all the gray and paint all my past a color between blue and pink, but in life just as important are the sweet moments as the bitter and both situations constitute our lives.
I agree with Rock, although we can't change the past you can learn from it to try to live the present and the future more comfortably, I also share the opinion of Cherie, always there are sweet moments, moments that we would like to relive that went but remain in our memory forever.
As it has done SparrowSong also I have answered each question of the poem silently and came to the conclusion that the past, the present and the future are as fragile as a soap bubble and that deserve to be always lived with courage, gallantry and with full enthusiasm.
Flower Girl words summarize it all, past, either good or bad, only serves to the perspective that gives the time look at it and try to remove from the large and small life lessons.
Personally I think all these life lessons to help us grow.

Fine write Richard, you tell it well and bring out real truth here. It reminds me of a hymn 'the sands of time are sinking' by 16th century Scottish minister Samuel Rutherford, well penned!
