~ SAT A VICAR ~
This particular night I did dream
Of a palace and its tower's sway
I am unseen, with a strong sense of me
At a gala, where Mozart did play
Sat a Vicar, with a reddish gaze...
The dream ominous, as hated churches
The palace well adorned with a holy array
With guests gossiping, whispering worship
A feeling of despotism, coyly conveyed
Sat a Vicar, with a reddish gaze...
Masked guards in the palace tower
Three British dancers performed a ballet
Two grandfather clocks faced the hour
I got the feeling this dream was staged
Sat a Vicar, with a reddish gaze...
I hate myself, from my knees I prayed
In a searing sweat I did abruptly awake
I reached a reddish towel to dry my face
In the corner, on my chair, of leather and lace
Sat a Vicar,
As I recalled,
From another time
Another place....
This particular night I did dream
Of a Vicar, with a reddish gaze
Who sat, with great authority
And cast a dark net,
Over all he surveyed...

My Dear Brother Tony,
Such a powerful poem, portraying the fear instilled into you by the Catholic Church.Β I HAD to pin it.
One night while in a sopor, a deepened dreamy daze
At a Ball there sat a Vicar, with a Devilish reddish gaze
While people drank and toasted, he stared in vast disgust
He placed on them his Curses, then back to Hell was thrust
All my love,

YAY!!...thank you SO MUCH for the PIN my friend!!....It's interesting.....this is one of my personally favorite writes.....but I think you are the only one to surmise that it was a fear that motivated the dream as an underlying theme......I must try to edit this better so that ALL might see what you have seen.....because it was truly a POWERFUL friggin' dream!!......It's strange how many dreams I recall.....i'd say I remember dreams most every day to some extent.....I believe my soul/subconscious is truly trying to tell me something!!.....anyway, sorry for rambling bro......just wanted you to know how much I appreciate your insights!!.....you rock!!....Stay groovy!!.....T xo : )
My Dear Brother Tony,
I too remember most of my dreams vividly, some of the more powerful ones staying with me for days.Β Some have recurring themes, such as of course, Nico, Cody, and Cookie, my other dog Linda, ha, ha, oops, she just hit me on the head!Β But in others I dream of finding great works of art, once in a while, my exes, and various places I have traveled to.Β Lastly, I dream of dear family and friends that have passed over the years.Β I have also, on occasion, had dreams that have come true.Β That is why I gave up flying in 1987, from a recurring tragic dream I had occasionally.Β Β
Dream on, Brother!
All my love,
Larry xxx
Excellent!
