SATURDAY MORNING

Rise and shine...

Rise and shine?

I am up...

Let the good times roll...

Sitting at the kitchen table...

I grab the funnies from the newspaper...

For a moment Daddy and I shared a laugh...

He begins to prepare Saturday morning pancakes...

Half dollar size for me...

As I grew from smiley face to stack on my plate...

Once funny breakfast was finished...

We would go to the drink house...

I would get a soda while Daddy would sip on his gin and tonic...

Lunch would be a burger or something...

Anywhere they sold drink and spirits...

This ends on Sunday around four...

The night before I scored...

Walked away with some loot...

Maybe, because I was eight and cute?

Good at the game or were they...

Letting me win?

Good score said pinball...

As my pockets went jingle jingle...

Dad would be talking to the bar tender drinking his Friday night cocktail...

We both were happy when we were out...

Hugs...

Hey FEATHERS!!.... What a gorgeous painting of the day in a life......... you and your dad ~ those fond and powerful memories that last a lifetime.......I don't know if this is a true story or not...... but regardless....... it was an enjoyable slice of life........ALL STARS...... well done girlfriend!!........I just hope that the underlying inference wasn't that Dad was drinking too much!!....... your friend and admirer..........T xo

Hello Tony...

I would take the funny pages from him and...

He would say...

Excuse me I wasn't finished...

I would tell him he has all the other paper to read...

When we would would have our time it was fun...

He wouldn't drink back then too much...

Good times!

Glad you enjoyed!

Thank you for your comment...

Enjoyed your poem of memories.  Brings back happy times I spent with my dad, too.  You are just full of creativity.  I see you write almost a poem a day and more and I have been enjoying reading several of them tonight.
