Savior
Once foretold a miraculous birth!
A man named Jesus walked the earth.
About His Father's work He went,
From the heavens He was sent.
Only one as good as He,
Was there ever possibility!
Fulfill the law; atone for man,
Help us return to Father again.
He went about doing good,
A perfect example; as we should.
He claimed and is the Son of God,
The way; the truth; the iron rod.
Thou rejected of the Jews,
They disregarded His good news!
Olive press thou didst bare,
Sins of men He suffered there.
Romans nailed Him to a cross,
And treated Him as humble dross.
They tried to bury Him away,
Thou didst rise the third day!
After looking past the mark,
They did dwindle into dark.
Simply choose; and stand your ground!
The Savior's love will abound!
If we'll follow the Son of Man,
Heeding all the gospel plan.
The Father's children we will be,
Residing there in eternity!

Men without the gift of the Holy Ghost have misinterpreted scripture for millennia adding their own philosophies! The " iron rod " is actually leading beside the straight and narrow path for men to hold and find their way through the mists of darkness! it means "the Word of God" so" sparing the rod " never meant to beat a kid! it meant with holding the "Word of God "! In this poem the olive press refers to the "garden of Gethsemane " . Thank you for reading my humble attempt to shine light on the LIVING CHRIST in this season of celebration. Merry Christmas! .........Jim
