"Say Cheese"

In memory of one of my life's most cherished friends 

Effortlessly closely connected 
Instantly filled in our blanks
Always made me feel protected
I'm not sure if I ever said "Thanks"

Felt lucky pretending in your shoes
For mine didn't always meet measures 
Never thought I'd this soon have to loose 
One of my life's most valuable treasures 

Been true to yourself from forever ago 
Few discover themselves all that early
Never questioned or wavered that much to and fro
Decisively stated opinions so surely

Didn't always offer what's wanted by ear 
But that's what I always respected 
Just wish once again your voice I could hear
Life's taken for granted, just simply expected 

Will forever remember your infectious hugs 
Helped me get through so much despair 
Thought of your daughter at my heart strings tugs
Hope she knows you'll always be there

Eternally knew you would shine like a star
But never noticed that it was your calling 
To console us just being who you are 
And help lift us up when we were falling

For this I will always be greatfull 
Gave me so much I'd never received 
So our unity is no less than fateful 
Meant more than you ever believed
