sea breeze walks

love walking along the sea wall,
the boats,
the ship's,
we see them all.
carved out of the tallest trees,
something so heavy,
carried on the light sea breeze.
big hunks of metal not sinking deep,
into the depths for the ocean to keep....
walking along with the salty air blowing in my ear,
trying to mask the other sounds, that whisper and dither quietly near.
the sounds of the birds that sing up high,
the blades of grass being blown from side to side.
the wind dies down as a herons beak dashes,
up rises a slippery silvery package.
dogs leads jingle, dingle and jangle,
woodpeckers peck and blackbirds chirp,
love sitting and watching the squirrels at work...
up out through our little walk,
with my kids we laugh and talk.
round the corner,
hide n seek,
little eyes in the bushes I peep.
through the gate and up through the park,
to my home before it's dark.
I love my sea breeze walks.
