Second Chance.

I take this brush and hold it tight
and think about this place at night,
a village old with cobbled streets
a place where people used to meet,
and a picture forming in my eye,
an old fashioned place of years gone by
this place I knew I cannot lie,
I remember you.
Where once we met you so bold,
wanted me to kiss and hold,
you a lad of seventeenÂ
when I was around boy you were keen,
to take me out it was your dream
yes I remember you.
The picture I see is you and me,
at our place we longed to be
a special corner where we kissed,
no day or moment did we miss,
such love, such tenderness, such bliss
God I remember you.
And as my painting starts to grow
I really miss you, you'll never know
fate was cruel it took you away
and my heart died again today,
for that was long ago you see,
but I am here again I breathe
And you will not remember me,
but I remember you.
So paint I must
while I think of us,
a picture of you and I
how we loved our hearts entwined,
a love lost when you died
I am on my own all alone
are you here again?
look for a painting hanging clearÂ
hope you are at last here,
Take away my lonely tears,
for I never stopped loving you.
