SECOND WORLD WAR SOLDIER

He was somebody's father,brother or son
He went into war carrying a gun
Kill or be killed the officers all said
One stray bullet and you would finish up dead

Johnny Jones was one of those fighting men
He fought in the first world war and was fighting again
He thought killing another human wasn't correct or right
Some of the horrendous scenes he saw were quite a sight

Johnny was lucky he got home in one piece
All the time hoping the killing would cease
