Secret Doner

Our Great Philanthropist, immeasurably rich
Yet incomparably humble

Empower us to live like you,
That we might taste true freedom

Share your wealth with us

Don't give us loans on interest
And we'll stop taking interest from others

Don't leave us to rot
But raise us up out of this poverty

For you're the Only Benefactor that can
With your vast resources, unbridled autonomy, and unparalleled generosity

What an interesting piece.

Favorite part:

Don't give us loans on interest
And we'll stop taking interest from others

What I take from the poem is that there are passionate donors in our mix of life who are helping entire communities stay afloat during the pandemic. The poem celebrates philanthropy and how this activity helps our world stay afloat.

Wonderful poem, well written.
