Self ish

Self ish

I know about political
correctness..
how I shouldn't marginalize..
nor maximalize,
out of respectfulness..
I know I shouldn't discriminate..
based on my own paranoia..
or even mention what I hate..
Just to annoy you..
But sometimes I'm tired..
I want what I like..
Without compromise..
for ruffling feathers..
or raising eyebrows. ..
I like what I like..
for reasons whatever
that shaped my conscience..
and I cant always justify,
nor feel the need to..
and if you are not the same,
then you are untrue..
As long as it's not unkind,
why mind..what I do..

A perfect poem for an in-perfect world, we are now all living in!

I have tried hard to write about the Black Lives Matter Movement, with an unbiased approach, however each time I try, I upset people on one side or the other. It's amazing to me, how political life truly is, especially in families and for creative writers. I once wrote a poem about a serial killer and a person asked me if I was under too much stress, lol! I said, no, just felt like writing about a psychopath this week, ha-ha.

Good poem with a good concept.

...its hard to tackle BLM and all what it will encompass.  Even in a comment we have to think twice before we post.  One wonders if it's worth saying anything and making yourself stand out from the sheep.   Its scary  when people destroy things..even concepts.
