Poem -

Selling Her Soul To the Bottle

She wakes up and goes about the day
In the same clothes she wore yesterday
Nothing else to her name
But hope, compassion, and dreams of fortune and fame
She walks through the steady slopes
Takes a wrong turn down the yellow brick road
And finds herself down the rabbit hole
At the bottom of the bottle she finds her peace
And hope for a better tomorrow
What does she have to lose?Ā
All that's left is her broken right and left shoe
No memory of the night the date nights with the bottle began
Leving behind her soul somewhere better
She finds peace in the bottle and drinks away the pain of another awful yesterday
She gets tired of it all and drinks away the pain
The burining liquid is going down her throat
As lethal as a pistol in her mouth
She gets to the bottom of the bottleĀ

BANG BANG
BANG BANGĀ
All the pain has gone away

Ā
