Poem -

September

Can you hold September for me
Hold it off enough till I can be
Fit for the rigors of next winter
All I need isĀ  moreĀ  warm days with her

Hold September till she remembers
Those days I held her hands as embers
On nights when chilling hearts knew their fears
The warmth that melt silence into stilled tears

Tie it to August and make behave
It's pressure to produce rain's cold crave
That I may have time in moon lite nights
Against soft pillowed silk bedded flights

Push it smack dead into October
While there, shake a fist at December
Let me build my warm's store to the full
When done, you can let cold have it's pull

September I mean you noĀ  real harm
It's just that winter brings it's alarm
What good is winter without love's heat
I've been through too many to repeat
