You invited me to walk with you,
On sands of life and time.
I can’t recall my answer then,
It feels like such a crime.

Looking back on times gone by,
It’s hard to stop and think.
Get caught up in the moment,
Eyes open, no time to blink.

Endless memories we shared,
Of years and years gone by.
Lessons learned, mistakes we made,
So happy I could cry.

You were always there for me,
My rock when things got tough.
The little boy became a man,
I can’t thank you enough.

Our days grow shorter now,
The nights can seem so dark.
I am your shining light in life,
Let me be your spark.

I wouldn’t change a thing,
When all is said and done.
Let’s just walk along this beach,
Enjoy this setting sun.
