Settling In

At firstÂ
For us
It was LoveÂ
It was Lust
It was learningÂ
And stress
And all of the rest
Battles and wars
And slammingÂ
Some doors
So manyÂ
"It's over!"
With lots ofÂ
"We're through!"
Said with convictionÂ
What were we to do
We triedÂ
No more talking
Then some
Friend BlockingÂ
We lied to our friends
What were we to do
Well....
What we did do
Was give in to truth
The love that we share
Comes not without fear
But the friendship we hold
Will grow till we're old

Hello Cherie,
May 14 will be six years...
We’ve learned to accept each other, we are both very similar in many aspects, many times we’ve said that we’re twins, so...if opposites attract, then...
BUT!!Â
We love and care for each other dearly, both of us not feeling whole without the other...
We found out early that we couldn’t live together, or be on top of each other constantly,Â
We now share a love for her 3 year old grandson, he’s like a grandson to me as well, calls me Bup!
As the poem says, we had trouble explaining to our friends when we kept getting back together, they think we’re nuts, and we are, for each other ....
Thank as always for your comments Cherie, it is very much appreciated!
My marriage lasted 22 years before my wife finally said fu@k it and walked away is if it were nothing, Bill.
That was marriage number two, and I can guaran-damn-tee you here won't be a third.
I hold no stock in the bullsh!t that the third time's a charm.
A curse, perhaps, but hardly a charm.
I'm glad you found your soul mate and that you're both happy.

Hello Dean,
I’ve also been married twice, and I have no plans of getting married again!
The ZZTop quote is perfect...
In fact I’m going to send this to my love. We, at first were holding to tightly, me more than her I’d have to say...
but we’ve Settled In to a more harmonious relationship these days!
And also these days there’s a unifying little boy in our life, Diane’s Grandson Andrew, is 3 years old and has brought so much fun &joy into our life!!
I’m known as Bup, not Papa or Gramps, But Bup!! I walk into the room , he looks up at me and say”Bup!” What a feeling!!!
Thanks for sharing Dean, have a great night my Friend!
Bill
