The Shadow of Love

The Shadow of Love

My brain throbs oozing pain through my eyes, My tears brand my cheek as they flow

My heart races as we talk, You speak the words I never wanted to hear

Today I am more alone than ever, Today a part of me rips from me

Ive done so much for you, Caught you every single time

I saved you from the dark, I took you too the light

Even though I made excuses, I kept by your side

I guess times had changed, I guess you have changed

My pain shall slowly subside, Time will tell what was truly there

Michael…yes, it is a shadow of love when one is giving while the other is taking because they are too weak or to disinterested to take and active part in the relationship.  This is tragic as your love pours out and is never nourished.  Love must be fed by Love.  Great write!

Thank you for the comment i will be sure to look at your work. Sadly many loves everyone has in their life will either break your heart, end in mutual agreement, or end in hate. The three fates can only be escaped by "the one" you are supposed to be with forever. Love is pain, pain is knowledge gained. Huh.....thank you for the idea for my next poem!
