Shadow of a broken heart.

 Shadow of a broken heart.
Standing in the shadow of a broken heart, with eyes filled with tear stained memories of a failed love . Choking back whimpers of trembling anguish, suppressed into the thought that an amnesiac state would hold back those tears I see.
To walk in the shadow of a lifeless tree, pushed and directed by the winds of a windless breeze. Held back only by the omission of a careless heart, forced into submission by those that would feel more at ease.
A love buried beneath piles of fallen color, there in the shadows of a broken branch, reminiscent of a time gone bad. Wind blown dunes of timeless sand, there to prove a ring less hand.
There in the shadow of a broken heart, a time run out, of winter come to fast, there in the back of the darkest room. There is a shadow of a broken heart that stands as the time of the dunes changed by the winds, and a love that ended to soon.
Fear not the shadow that stands beside light, for they are only there till the dark. But feel remorse for the lifeless love in the shadow of a broken heart.

Hello Gary,
There are some lovely rhyming moments within this piece. But it’s the imagery you paint for the reader that truly sweeps the minds eye off into something rather special, despite it being a sad subject. For instance
To walk in the shadow of a lifeless tree, pushed and directed by the winds of a windless breeze.Â
Just wonderful imagery with these metaphors. Giving the reader a real sense of the empty, hollowness felt.Â
A great pieceÂ
