Shame The Truth And Tell A Lie

Shame The Truth And Tell A Lie

You stand right there looking at me for an answer

You sigh and give the impression that I should have known better

Fingers loss their sexy when they are pointing to blame

I'd admit I'm a coward cos I'm afraid to lose you to your anger's heat and flame

So I'd shame the truth and tell a lie

How could I have been so shortsighted and careless

I thought it would be just once and totally harmless

No baby I don't take you for a fool, I'm the one being foolish

I Always want the best for us  I can't imagine how I got into something so selfish

I'm So ashamed of the truth and have to tell a lie

So I'm going to look into your eyes and hold your shoulder

This is the mistake that will never ever happen again so I'd deny all that I can

You far too precious to deserve this pain this slate would be my alone to clean

Please forgive my shameful deed of not telling you the bitter truth but a justified white lie

hoping some day you'd understand and it wouldn't  even matter. Cos I can't afford to lose you.
