Shattered

My soul has shattered
into microscopic bits.Β
You try to put them back together,Β
but none seems to fit.Β
My eyes stare blankly
not seeing your waving hand.Β
I no longer hear your voiceΒ
and the world appears so bland.Β
I thought you would give up,
yet still you are here.
Trying to fix the piecesΒ
but the way isn't clear.Β
You're beginning to give in
to the thought of me being this way.Β
There isn't much I can do
I can't even try to make me stay.Β
Then one day you came,
with a new light in your eyes.Β
You looked again at my soul
and you'd finally realized.Β
You took a piece of your soul
and fit it with a piece of mine.Β
My body became my ownΒ
and the light began to shine.Β
So rarely are the times
when two souls are a perfect match
but fortunately for you and I
we were a part of that lucky batch.Β

Though written in a rather breezy and conversational style...there is a deeply poetic image contained within the heart of this piece.
Beautifully written...as we've come to expect of our Miss Cas!!
{Good to see that you found your voice again}

Which for once, is exactly how I indented it to be!
This was a write that I haven't experienced in awhile, where the first stanza came to me and the rest followed.Β
Thank you Jason! I'm glad that's what has come to be expected :)
{It's not fully back but it is getting there, the block is melting away day by day}

{Glad to hear it. The trick is to keep writing through the bad patch...if only to get rid of the 'bad ink'. Real poetry is there somewhere...you just have to find it again.}
