Poem -

Shattered Illusions

When illusions are broken
everything else is shattered,

tiny pieces of fractured glass,
look around my feet,
littered with all the broken pieces
of my shattered illusions,
I tried to pick them up myself,
but my fingers bled,
and I couldn't find them all,
hid what was left of them away in my pocket to keep for another time when I needed to once again pick up my broken and shattered illusions.

This poem is definitely no illusion
You brought it nicely to conclusion
And in between, sadly proclaimed
You'll keep the pieces you've reclaimed

Thank you kindly for your writing
