Poem -

SHE SAID

If you listen closely she said
You might hear them whisper
A long song to each other, to
the breeze, to our mother

For who can stand for
centuries,  for years
In silence with lands, and no
eyes, and no ears

Not they, not the trees
They just fool with solid
stillness
In the undulating breeze

Quiet keepers of all moments
Of histories, fates, of hearts
good and the soulless

They weep every autumn in
such colours of boldness she
said, though
We mistake it for beauty
