She Told Me

My sister wasn’t born gay, she told me that. My sister said she didn’t know why she was attracted to women at first. With time she dissected her decisions and came to the conclusion of the reason. She blames our step dad, it was him that forced her to desire women. At age three being slapped in the face, getting your ass beaten, witnessing your mom get punched in the face and get black eyes… She associated all men with that behavior, if the man that’s supposed to care for you the most does that shit, then why wouldn’t they all do it? That was the mindset he forced her to adopt, that was the Hell we both lived in. To each their own, for we may never know everyone’s reason, life has taught me that there’s always a story behind the decision, who are we to judge anyone, to each their own, we all deserve to be happy, we all deserve to feel safe!
