Should Have

Should Have

I should have called you
Made up some excuse
To look into those pretty eyes
And fight to hide my smiles
I should have stopped you
Tapped or held your arm
Just to get your attention
Inviting you to my affections
I should have
Been more bolder
Hope my brain's wiser
Words I have deep down
Longs to nurture your heart
Feelings I haven't known
Desire to capture your soul

I should have loved more
Swim the seas of doubts to your shore
To touch your lovely face
And fight the urges that race
I should have tired more
Desperatingly seeking your love
Wish I could turn back time
For precious memories to be made
I should have
Been even stronger
Prayed my motives even better
Passion I have deep down
Inspires favour Divine
Love I haven't known
Drives me crazy to make you mine.

Cleo, I enjoyed this write.  I have things in my life that I could say I should have. oh love is a tough one.  I have always thought it would be tougher to be a man.  Having to be the bold one to approach or ask a woman whatever, out on a date...will you marry me...do you want to dance..etc.  very heartache poem...I feel the emotions and loved it.  sorry for your hurt...Terry Kay
