Silent Sky...
As she sits,
Grey,
Counting the stars,
An angel passed by hanging onto her every tear,
She sits screaming silently, wishing her baby was near,
She would surrender her soul for one last smile, laugh or cry,
She would give her own life, instead, the mourning soil isn't dry.
Stone cold and dark, breathing in ghosts from a child's graveyard,
Unable to bare life from her own, looking for hope from the stars,
She wished to hear her first words,
Now,
A motherless curse on a caring nurse.
Another angel knocking on heaven's door,
Tonight,
She knew the sky was silent no more,
Every time she comes and sits to say goodbye,
She feels her touch when her star once again shines.
Her angel reminded her that she has to have hope, that she'll feel that love again,
Stumbling and tumbling to her feet, her chest aching so bad as she walks out the gate.
Lost,
Without words,
No will to carry on.
Beat,
Strength no more,
Her baby made her strong.
As she walked the broken streets counting every child that should be in bed,
She cried every crack, she thought she heard her laugh, it was only in her head,
She turned the key to a house that wasn't a home anymore,
Walked up the stairs, baby no more, eyes staring at the empty floor.
Waiting to hear that sound...
Waiting for that "mama",
In the sheets she'd drown.
Tomorrow,
From the world tears will pour,
As the sky is silent no more,
As the sky is silent no more...
