SIMPLE STAN

SIMPLE STAN

This is a tale of a betting man
He was known by the bookies as simple Stan
He used to bet on every sport and every game
The outcome for Stan was always the same

Fifty pounds lost here and twenty pounds there
Simple Stan did not seem to care
He always enjoyed the thrill of the chase
As he put his money on Friends to win the 3.00 race

The bookie was laughing when he took the bet
A horse at a 1000 to 1 he thought was a horse to forget
However simple Stan's horse came in that day
A tidy sum would be coming his way

The bookies will always remember simple Stan
An ordinary bloke and a betting man
