Sink or swim

The oak grew tall and so did its leaf
the oak was a sight to be seen and
its leaf was healthy and green.

one and the same so the leaf thought 
life is good,water I couldn't hold another
drop.

winter came and the oak stood tall
the leaf didn't know he would fall
he didn't understand he was just 
a leaf the oak taught him nothing
wisdom is bleek

the wind picked up and away he flew
here it is let's see how you do.he tried to hang on
he tried to make it the tree taught him nothing his
green is fading.

drying up feeling brittle it's a big world
even the smartest dye knowing so little 
just like the leaf we all go back to the dirt
While our maker stands over us with a smirk
