The Siren
Deep down on a rock by the sea
A siren sits singing her luring pleaÂ
Her beauty is unmatched by mortal souls
And she makes destruction of ships her goalÂ
Deep down she sings a soulful tuneÂ
And knows that her powers will kill men soonÂ
Running fingers through her locks of gold
She doesn't feel the iciness of her frozen soulÂ
Deep down a sailor’s cry is heard
Beyond the sound of the albatross birdÂ
Beauty he calls at two o’clockÂ
And that ship begins to twist and rockÂ
Deep down the sailor’s ship is luredÂ
Cries of deepest anguish can only be heardÂ
As splinters of wood crash upon the rocks
No more a sailor’s ship at two o’clockÂ
Deep down the only calls you’ll hear
Around the fierce waters are ones of fear
Beauty they call at two o’clockÂ
And slowly sink below the hard deathly rock
