SMALL GLASS COFFINS

It sits on the mantle
Happiness
Smiling at me in sympathy
Reminding me
That happiness can be broken
down
Into fragments of lost time
Condensed
Frozen
Reduced
Gone
Etched onto the weeping bark
Of an old oak tree
Long dead
It sits on the mantle
Happiness
In images
All dusty now
Small glass coffins
Reflecting my misery

Well that is a unique way to look at a photograph! I have so many photos which were taken in times of great happiness. And now I look at them and wonder where and why it all went. Love this poem. Pinned x
Sometimes I wonder what use memories are because ultimately ...those moments are gone forever and when all the people involved are dead...it is all dead. Depressing cow tonight aren't I...?? Thanks Tina ..hugs ?
