The Small Town Of Honesty

Within this civilization I sense a hint of decay,
As I grew older and the innocence quickly,
Slipped away,
Learning to step up is to trample others,
Under foot,
So proud to get ahead conscience questions,
Do you really feel good,
But,
A theory of it's existence and I mean,
I do believe,
That in between the cities of,
Bullshit and thief,
A rare but small town called honesty.
Where people are decent,
They know how to honor thy neighbor,
The folk around here respect and appreciate,
What it means to live off of hard manual labor,
Looking at you as a fellow man,
No need to ask,
When your down on luck,
They lend a helping hand,
Conversations are plenty in this place,
We all share,
Always asking how are you,
Because people really do care,
No one is hungry or facing life alone,
Everyone working and going to and from,
A place we call home.
Life in this town so far so good.......
Or so it would seem,
My senses pickup a hint of decay,
Awakening from an unfeasible daydream.
