SMILES + EYES

how come then
that I never did see
in the flesh
in the reality
in the living life
when that was so

how come then
that I never did see
that finite spark
that mortality

how come then ...now,
I see it now
in all the various
smiles and eyes
here captured
on a lightened lense
here frozen under earthly skies

that flesh was only ere pretence
that bone was only ere disguise
