Smiling Depression

The smile they wear weary
this morning,
hangs heavy, like an old
mans thin smile ..
And with each side of their
jowls curled
up at the edges, in truth
the heart still
worn loose on their sleeve,
slowly shrivels
and then, most surely it dies ..

People often comment, that I'm such a smiley person and as rule I'm pretty bubbley...but that smile is somtimes a smile of unknown apprehension, its like a prop to face the world with
