Snow Time Like The Present.

I take an early morning walk through the freshly laid fluffy winter snow.
Around my heavily clothed body a cold winter wind does noisily blow.
Every step i take the fresh snow underneath my winter boots doe’s noisily crunch.
Sitting on a snow laden leafless tree a healthy looking squirrel on a hidden stored chestnut does hungrily munch.
The sky above desolate and grey.
Theres no sun so no one will be making hay.
Wild life as usual does carry on.
In the dim light of early morning dawn.
Above my head long winged birds do fly.
In these cold winter months some of them will freeze and die.
Beside me my dog so full of life.
At home in bed sleeps my warm comfortable wife.
A passerby does nod and say hello.
To himself he sings hi ho hi ho its of to work i go.
To myself i say what a happy chap.
And to his uplifting personality i do respectfully clap.
My full off life dog does lift his leg and have a pee.
A piss hole in the snow my tired morning eyes do see.
I look at my watch and see it is quarter past eight.
Christ i say I’ve been walking for two hours, i better get home because for my sunday morning breakfast i don’t want to be late.
So to home i return.
And as i walk through the kitchen door a warm cosy wood fire does brightly burn.
