So This Is Love
your everything

Tell me I’m your everything,
tell me that you would rip the very flesh off your body to keep me warm,
let me curl up into a ball and live in the hollow of your spine forever.
Take me in with every breath, I am your everything.
Then give me that look, and my feet will throw me off the cliff, your smirk etched into my eyelids as I gave my last glance and spiral down floating, but definitely falling until there was nowhere else to fall.
How do I keep falling repeatedly, how do you give me more reason to?
The butterflies that reside in my stomach don’t know which direction to fly, they too can’t read the map.
I am your everything you gloat scraping me off the pavement.
Take me to our home ill lock the door and hit the lights if you promise to never leave,
the sweetest sound bouncing off walls as merlot whispers take hold of my neck.
Sand flows through glass and back again until the light opens my gaze.
You ask me for my eyelashes in exchange for your thumb, so I rip each one out with a crimson tear and you raise your thumb with an usher and a pitiful mutter that I am your everything

Hi Courtney, I love your poem here. It is well written. When you love soooo deeply, you forgive too easily and you cannot let go. The hurt can be agonisingly brutal. Great poem. Welcome to Cosmo x
