Poem -

Society

She grew up looking at the girls in magazines
she wanted to look just like them every little girls dream
they were all so beautiful
so different from what the mirror would let her see
it was then that she decided to try for society's idea of beauty
she studied all their pictures just trying to fit in
but all of them were perfect and all of them were thin.
It was then that she stopped eating and quit the sweet drinks too
she didn't plan to stop until her ribs were showing through
there faces were so clear not a single flaw to see
she started wearing makeup and ask "Am I beautiful Society"?
Its been a few years since she first tried to fit in
she may be a size 0 but her eyes are oh so grim
Those magazines are quite the crooks they stole her happiness
they replaced by worrying about her looks
and not what lays within.
