Poem -

Soft Moss + Rough Wood

I don't want to come out
My tunnel is cool dark rough
With the bark of old wood
Ancient whisperings
Safe havens and soft moss

Here and there a green thing
sprouts
Embryos primed for the light
For the out, but
They're not eager to leave here
Leave the peace of this hollow
This bark of old wood
Safe havens that swallow

There is a world at the far end
Shifting in colours
It's peaceful to watch
Heaven to pretend

That our world can stay timeless
Soft moss and rough wood
To never have to leave
That safe havens don't end
