Somebody's Anything

I just want to know
when I'm going to realize
that life may get better for most,
but I wasn't blessed with that choice and chance
of being somebody's first choice,
somebody's priority,
best friend, lover, favorite,
somebody's anything.
And I need to understand that I will never
mean more to anybody
than bricks mean to fish.
Unimportant, pointless, useless
and I think I finally get it,
that I was put here to be 'friends' designated punching bag,
family's root to all their problems,
and boys go-to girl
for when they're lonely and need a temporary fix.
Because that's all I am
