Someone else's fight...

I laid a table laid it bare, the richest wine and cuisines there,
The finest food you've ever tried, on silver platters side by side,
And silver goblet's over filled, red wine like blood would soon be spilled,
As sons and husbands by the score, go seeking out the spoils of war,
As all around there hangs the stench, a thirst that only death can quench,
Presuming that it's just and right, caught up in someone else's fight,
For Queen and country they defend, and will until the bitter end,
Go forth prepared to cut no slack, lay down your lives for the Union Jack,
By Bayonet, rifle, sword or knife, expendable each soldiers life,
The wisest words that I heard said..."What good's a hero when he's dead?"
So ask yourself can it be right, to die for someone else's fight?
