Poem -

Something, Anything

I feel nothing

There is no sinking feeling in my chest where sadness visits

No fuel for the fire of passion and anger

Dry eyes and dry lips with no statement to leave

Flat like the sail of a ship stuck in the dead sea

No waves

No air

Nothing but the life drained from its form

There is nothing for it to do but wait and wait

For something

Anything

Anything at all

A storm

A breeze

A whirlpool to quickly devour its entire being

I sit waiting for something to shake the stiffness from my bones

Waiting for anything

To feel something
