Something Is Missing

There was beautyÂ
There was so much beauty in it all
And I perceived it so wellÂ
And to my craftÂ
I'd grown fondÂ
But...
Oh what happenedÂ
To that beautiful bondÂ
That like a sole ribbonÂ
Was cut from the fleshÂ
Brought to some threshold
Repeatedly threshedÂ
And me..I would watch it
Though never impressedÂ
Helpless to sootheÂ
All the worry and stressÂ
And I know they don't knowÂ
Of the things that I speakÂ
Just hopefulÂ
That someone
Can move to the beat
And hear when I tell youÂ
Never to looseÂ
All that you areÂ
While singing the bluesÂ

Sometimes the words won't purge the pain, learn to bury it. If you let it, it will bury you.
Deep advice, I'll give it voice! Much love Curious
Very deep write :) nicely âś”
Thanks so much!Â
I love this poem. The melancholy of the metaphors and the structure of the lines lend themselves excellently to the theme of blues! Great work, well done.
