Poem -

somewhere ...there's a place for me.

somewhere ...there's a place for me.

Is there a place for me?
Where peaceful valleys
and meandering rivers flow.
Where only Nature paints
blood red in the autumn.

Where children like me play,
lost in childish
games of the young.
Mothers calling us home
to sleep in safety
in warm beds.

Far away from the wounds
of stray explosions.
Bullets carelessly aimed
and bombs falling
from an azure sky.

Let me bleed for them.
Wound my small body.
Let me absorb all the hate.
And when at last I die,
let all others find peace.
