Soulmates

I believe that we all have a Soulmate,
I hope mine gets here before I reach the gate.
I have waited my whole life for him,
I've even put my life on a limb.

I've thought it was him a couple of times,
Of course, I was wrong, He wasn't even mine.
They've cheated, They've cursed, They've even beat me,
I'm not giving up, mine will come in due time.

About seven years ago, I met someone.
Ever since then, I've prayed he is the one.
We've been through up's, And we've been through downs,
But, No matter what, He always comes back around.

These days, I'm not so sure, If you are mine and if I am yours,
I'd love to say, I know that you are,
For some reason, That's not the way I feel in my heart,
